Glasswalk N.1 is the first performance in what I hope will become a continued performance series existing in different variations. Functionally it consists of a large bed of blown glass, and the performer(s) as they navigate the space. In this variation, I, myself am the performer and I don robes which obscure my vision and constrict my autonomy. The rolling hills of glass eventually become rivers of shards as I walk on the glass. I found myself navigating by sound, as the glass responded to my movement. We spoke to each other. It was cathartic for me as my procession-like gait evoked my own grief and confronted me with introspection. In the heat and darkness of the robes, I found clarity & meaning.
